Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
This is a list of frequently asked questions about using and contributing to Modern Wikia.
How do I create a new page?
You are required to have a Wikia account to create a new article - you can register here.
For creating a new article see Help:Creating a new Article.
Why was my article deleted?
The best way to find out is to look at the deletion log for reasons (type the exact name of the article in the Title box, including the capitalization you used).
How do I change the name of an article?
You move the article using the "move" button (to the right of the "edit this page" button). You must have an account, and it must be at least four days old and have made ten edits to move pages. If you are not an autoconfirmed user, the move is controversial or the page you wish to rename is move protected.
Who owns Modern Wikia?
Who owns the modern Encyclopedia? The articles hosted on this site are released by their authors under the CC-BY-SA license (and in most cases, also the GNU Free Documentation License), so the articles are free content and may be reproduced freely under the same license.
By law the contributions are still owned by people who donated them. These people are not bound by the license and can use their property in the way they like. However media with multiple authors require permission from every contributor to use them differently from the terms of the Wikia license. Who owns the Web site? Modern Wikia is managed by Wikia Inc., which also manages the operation of other wikia's.
